Look into learning to set Affinity on Pifast. You should definitely be able to run this at the same frequency as your 32M run (usually 100-200MHz higher). The fact that it's running at a much lower frequency indicated it ran on a weaker core!
(or you ran this before tweaking and reaching the higher frequencies)
