Amazing board with tons of features, this board is awesome, I always was a fan of ROG, when I wanted to upgrade to X99 platform i got this board because it has so much featrues, great memory support and 4 ways SLI Support and tons of SATA ports to connect all of my drives.
I've always been a fan of ROG products but this board is no exeption despite its high price tag of $480-500
I have read some reviews that say that apparently there is an issue with the onboard RAID controller on this board, but I wanted to setup a RAID array configuration with 4X Samsung 850 pro SSD's in order to get insane read and write speeds since I am designer and I need a powerful PC but thankfully my particular unit didnt have this issue as I was hoping and the onboard RAID controller works fine.

This latest debacle centers on how unbelievably much wasted time of my life has been spent getting this board to run, and then advancing to a mild overclock - certainly nothing that couldn't have been achieved in far less time with almost any of their lesser boards, and certainly with an EVGA board. And if you'll carefully take the time to read through the user forums over at their ROG website, you'll find an unbelievable litany of posts from users, at least as capable as myself, running into issue after issue with this monstrosity, typically unable to use USB peripherals we've enjoyed for years with any other system, and/or ruined CMOS chips from bad BIOS flashes. A similar perusal of the forums over at EVGA (for their X99 boards) rarely yields any such issue.
Asus gets defensive on those forums, writing back that the new USB standard, which this board carries in all innocence, is to blame for the sudden lack of USB compatibility for so many of everyone's devices. In my case, that included my very expensive Optimus Maximus keyboard, and a high-end ATEN KVM switch. As so many other people posted in regard to other devices, these two devices, which I had enjoyed for years with other boards (including other Asus boards) rendered this system completely unusable. And of all their purported 'features' or 'methods' to update the BIOS on the board's two CMOS chips, none work reliably, whether it's done in the existing BIOS via a USB drive, via the powered-off BIOS flashback method utilizing their ROG Connect button, or by copying over a working BIOS from one chip to the other. And when it goes wrong - which it will - they simply suggest that you send the board back to them (at your expense, no doubt, and probably plus a small fee) so that they can replace the CMOS chips and send it back to you. [Um, no, I'm not about to take the time to totally disassemble my high-end water-cooled and cable-managed system so as to send the board back to them at my expense, wait for them, and them reassemble the whole thing again!] The only reasonable solution would be to mail out replacement chips to registered customers, and at this price point, Asus should really foot the bill. Of course, more reliable BIOSs to begin with, and more reliable methods of flashing them, would solve the problem even further upstream, but quality control of that sort just isn't in the cards for this company evidently, and is certainly not in keeping with my much-better experience with EVGA in the past. It is because of this chip issue that I've had to spend additional $, once by ordering a programmed chip from a third party, and once to buy an EEPROM programmer so as to just do it myself (and taking the time to learn how to do that). In the latter case, it simply didn't matter, because the latest BIOS - 3501 as of this writing - is unstable, and was just as unstable whether I used one of their recommended methods of flashing it, or did it myself with the EEPROM programmer, in all cases never advancing beyond the endless loop of "BIOS is updating. Do not turn off or reset." followed by an endless loop of reboots until the motherboard, recognizing the situation as hopeless, automatically switched to the other CMOS chip. Finally, removing the CMOS chip was much more physically difficult than on an EVGA board, so I first had to unplug the USB3 cable plugged into the adjacent slot on the bottom of this Asus board, which naturally pulled the red plastic holder for the USB cable right off the board (I didn't use any unusual force to remove the cable, and pulled it straight out). Now, the USB3 connector pins, naked and unsupported, won't take the red plastic supporter/holder back on, nor can I perfectly align all 20 pins (or however many it is), such that now I can no longer use the USB3 ports at the front of my computer case. Such a thing probably wouldn't be covered under warranty, even if I were willing to go to the trouble of completely disassembling this system so as to send it in to them, since it was a physical problem that occurred with the end-user, although poor construction cement/glue quality was clearly the issue. This last round of fixing has cost me my hard-won overclock, since not only were my saved profiles wiped in the attempt to update the BIOS, but I've found that even with the other chip, it is no longer possible to load BIOS overclocking profiles from the board's memory, even if they were just saved minutes ago; any attempts to do so simply result in the board hanging irretrievably.
I hope that my fellow customers will join me in using our only power - i.e., voting elsewhere with our hard-earned dollars - to get Asus to see that people expect quality builds, stability, and well-vetted software features and updates. I'm certainly switching to EVGA, which has far more reliable products, and better customer service - perhaps because they don't waste nearly as much resources on trivial/flashy "features" that Asus spends so much time on, which usually don't work, and are of little use in the first place.

tl;dr This motherboard makes my husband jealous.
Top reviews from other countries
Memory stability is excellent at 100bclk.
Works with Xeon 1603 v3 and 1650 v3 no issues. The 1650 v3 is unlocked for cpu and cache ratio, however you MUST set the memory ratio to 100:133 and the cpu strap to 100mhz manually and disable all intel svid controllers. This will unlock cpu and cache multis, plus 1866/2133/2400/2666/2800/3200 memory ratios. Others may work with tweaking, but those work out the box on the 1702 shipping bios.
Disclosure, bought from Warehouse for about £200, received £30 refund due to needing to get the bios chips flashed (ME corrupt).
