Board arrived pretty as can be. Bios was out of date, didn't recognize above 8g, but allows for 32g, which I installed. 6 business days later, got replacement bios chip. Then Dimm slot one and two died and had to RMA the whole board. Customer service was decent, but not happy with delays and additional costs to me for their warranty issues.

This mobo was installed in a computer I bought that had been built from scratch (but still new, Windows 7.) I didn't choose or purchase the board myself. It had USB hub surge errors from the beginning, and EVGA support said updating the BIOS (to latest 2.04) would fix the problem. I tried that and the computer wouldn't boot at all, not even to go into the BIOS. It has three different switchable BIOSes, but none worked. I couldn't even boot to a CD or flash drive. So EVGA replaced it (with a refundable $399 credit card charge for non-prepaid cross-shipping.) When the (supposedly pre-ship checked) replacement was installed, it hung repeatedly during boot, and would only fully boot in safe mode. The only way to get it to boot into full Windows (still with repeated boot hangs & resets) was to disable the graphics card in Device Manager (which worked perfectly on the first board.) So I tried a different brand (and much older) graphics card, but the results were the same. EVGA reluctantly offered to RMA the replacement board as well, but it just didn't seem likely that it was actually bad. Up to this point, I'd spent quite a bit of time on the phone with EVGA tech support, but the computer was actually getting worse. On a whim, I decided to flash an older BIOS. Their site allows download of several older versions, so I picked one that was about 18 months old (version 38)--and everything worked perfectly. They redesigned their BIOS interface sometime 2013 (numbered 2.01, 2.02, etc.) but the older generations (numbered 29, 30, etc. up to 47) are still available. So I tried 2.01 and all the problems returned. Keep in mind that you can't flash the BIOS from safe mode, so I again had to disable the graphics card to get into regular Windows (with default SVGA graphics) to flash. I finally settled on version 47--which works great. I've read online that 41 is good for overclocking, but 47 is best for regular use--but they're an old, DOS-like interface. I haven't tested that myself, I'm just glad to have a working computer again. Tech support always seemed knowledgeable and willing to help, but never suggested flashing an older BIOS--which ultimately solved the problem. I still don't know why my current (and all new) configuration doesn't work with the latest BIOS--but at least it works.

    Edit, 1/11/2016:
I'm lowering to 1 star. The USB ports randomly cut out causing external drives to crash, but EVGA forums suggest that newer builds have resolved the problem. I contacted EVGA tech support for a warranty replacement, but they refuse to honor because it was shipped to Amazon in July 2012, so the warranty would expire July 2015--6 months ago. This board was defective when built and they know it. Garbage company.

    Edit, 1/13/2016:
After the Technical Marketing Director reviewed my case, EVGA decided to replace the 2 1/2 year old board--not under 3-year warranty, but as a one-time out-of-warranty replacement. I'm reluctantly raising my rating to 3 star. I realize this is an old mobo now, but I've spent a lot of money on this gaming/CAD system otherwise, and this USB situation is the only problem.

Choose 4 out of 5, as it didn't have the W8 USB3.0 Drivers, and this gave me an issue that I had to resolve by doing firmware update, practically out of the box.

Likes: Packaging, features, accessories, all super detailed. Very nice out of the box experience.
3-way SLi Rock solid, i7 3820 OC'd to 4.3Ghz super stable can even go to 4.5 or 4.75 using the Kulher 620.

Dislikes: Didn't have the latest bios out of the box, USB issue.

Recommended to anyone, looking for a solid platform that overclocks easily even locked processors should get this. Pair it with 2 OCZ Vertex 4 SSD's in stripe and get super fast and stable performance.

I have been working with computers for over 30 years and finally decided to build one of my own. This motherboard was the foundation of the build. It required a larger case than most other boards. I used the Corsair Obsidian 880D. Since it was my first build I wanted lots of space to make my life easy anyway. I have been using the computer for 4 months and it has worked flawlessly. I love all the USB3 and on board USB2 headers, the easy access to all the connectors, and the 2 SATAIII ports which I hooked to my SSD drives. Even though it is hard to tell from the pictures, there is plenty of room for Corsair Vengeance Memory to fit in the DIMM slot and still fit a Corsair 80i water cooler for the CPU. It comes with a 20 inch by 24 inch two-sided visual guide which was all I needed for putting it together. The EVGA E-LEET tuning utility is nothing special but does the job. The EVGA web site is easy to navigate and easy to get all the latest drivers.

I had a lot of problems at first with this board. After talking with EVGA support they was able to help me solve the problem. It was a bad RAID driver. Downgrading it solved the problem and I haven't had a BSOD since (knock on wood).

I was also able to get the memory (16GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-17000 RipjawsZ Series for Intel X79 (9-11-10-28) Quad Channel kit 4x4GB) running at the correct speeds, voltages and @ 2133!

    PROs

Nicely laid out mobo with tons of fan, usb, and usb 3 headers.
EVGA tech support is top shelf.

    CONs

Came with outdated BIOS so I had to flash it from the start.
The BIOS is dated and not very user friendly compared to some others out there.
Would have been nice if there was at least 1 usb header located near the CPU for the cooler but that's just being picky.

I got this MoBo and I have loved every second of it. I know that people have had issues with these but I can say that this board is solid and holds up to the EVGA name. However if you buy this get an Intel NIC because the OB Marvell nics are as good as trash.

the buying process and delivery was OK,
the Installation, and functionality, did not go well since I had to make an upgrade to Bios, and check blogs for problems with this mobo.
