ROG OC Showdown Extreme Series Round 2
ASUS Republic of Gamers is launching ROG OC Showdown 2015, a global online overclocking competition that invites both extreme and enthusiast overclockers to compete for kudos and great prizes!
Round 2 of ROG OC Showdown 2015 Extreme series challenges entrants to reach the upper echelons of HWBOT’s Elite and Extreme leagues, reserved for the world’s most prodigious overclockers. Extreme cooling prowess will need to be engaged to secure the top in each of the 3 stages: Maxxmem Read Bandwidth, 3DMark Fire Strike Physics and Unigine Heaven. Participation requires a Z97 or X99 motherboard from ASUS/ROG/TUF. For 3D benchmarks, overclockers must also use ASUS/ROG/Strix graphic cards.

Will the scores be divided by cores this time as well?
I mean for physx?
For heaven it is sure and maxmem as well, but for physx...how is it going there?
And is TitanX allowed?
Limitations now available. Titan not allowed.
The Physics question still stands.
Is it going to be divided by the number of Cores.?
Yes, it will be per core
Lol.
That's actually perfectly fair.
Or else all you would see is people with 5960Xs on top.
now it will be 4770K
Probably..
The competition this time seems to be less CPU dependent & can be done on Z97 unless the quad channel on Haswell-E gives more Memory Read Bandwidth compared to Tight PSC on Z97. Unlikely, but can't be sure till it's tested.
I don't see how.
Not thad i gone enter this competition ( no asus gear )
Is the 20th Anniversary Gold Edition allowed?
i know its not labeld as a ROG/Strix graphic cards
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GOLD20THGTX980P4GD5/
Yes, allowed
it‘s time show your 47K and psc ram again
Psc no need here...anywhere!
Mfr and Samsung ftw
Hey staff!
In general rules for fsx is written, that sys info 4.34 must be used!
In specific rules, latest version of fsx and sys info.
I was currently using 4.34 and 1.478...like in g.skill comp. Which one is right?
4.34, has been specified, and for all contestants, please check the general rules at the comp and the specific rules at each stage to avoid results being removed
So...which version has now to be chosen?
Compare the specific rules with the general rules
Let´s paste the rules^^- I think latest version of fsx should do the work, sys info is specified, I see no problem anyway if you use new benchmark version
Stage 2: 3DMark Fire Strike Physics
Must provide verification screenshot including 3DMark score window, CPU, Motherboard, Memory, and SPD information.
Compare link required.
System Info 4.34 installed and enabled.
You can use the latest version of Physics and must use the 4.34 version of system info
Hi Guy's
A browsing the rules again I noticed you need to use an ASUS vga so my round two subs may be disqualified as I used a EVGA 980 classy. If so the only setup VGA I have is a ASUS R9 295X2 can I use that?. Also I missed round 1 so does that disqualify me as well
Thanks Mkeys
Sorry, 295 not allowed, you need to use VGA with one GPU core - you don´t need to have participated in round 1 to compete in round 2
ok thanks
Hey,
I have the "Time measuring inaccurate" error on the FM link for stage 2, is it ok or not?
Also, regarding system info, is it 4.34 only or 4.34 and above ok?
Thank you.
http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=92310
On win7 OK according to this information, time measurement error was OK, on Windows8 not^^ - please use system info 4.34 as it is explicitly stated in the rules, sorry for your inconvenience
Thank you for your answer Websmile. Pardon my ignorance but are you a member of the HWBot staff? I put some effort into this competition, I would not like to get disqualified because of an FM link error or because of a wrong SI version
Therefore I would appreciate a comfirmation from the staff, If you are, then it's ok!
I help out a bit, I already gave CN a heads up but guess he is too busy - on sys info, you can be sure that 4.34 has to be used though, you will have to rebench like nearly all people who submitted for stage 2
Edit your submission is invalid anyway, please read the rules page and not only the rules that are near stage submission site -
Haha, thank you for showing this to me. I will rebench.
Sorry but it's a shame that rules are different between the rules page and the stage submission page
Indeed, it can cause confusion but reading both can´t hurt - this is why I try to check results at least once or twice before competition is ended so people can rebench after checking reason for removal and read rules again. Blame Asus and Massman on this, I don´t create rules and don´t make layout for comp design and info
Is it possible to get an official statement about the Time measuring error please?
And please, not next week
I need SystemInfo Version 4.34, unable to locate and Futuremark doesn't have a download for SystemInfo Version 4.34 . If someone can help It would be greatly appreciated.
I think it was said before, scores with time error won't be accepted, especially in contests.
Can’t change series from one Round to the other. (in the rule )
Please explain me this rule ...
Round 1 : i have participated Formula serie Round 1
Round 2 : Asus invite me to participate in extreme League for the second Round
Asus said me : u can participate extreme serie round 2 ....
And the rule say reverse !
i don't understand Sorry !
Where was it said? How come the rules are sooooo blurry?
I'm using W7 64b, I don't get why sometimes I have this error, even on aircooling with rockstable frequencies.
Someone from the HWBot staff told me Time measurement is ok on W7, Websmile linked a post where it is also said that it is ok, and now you are saying that it is not?
Come on....
Here you go : https://www.dropbox.com/s/uqhtpzth5sbeuil/Futuremark_SystemInfo_v434_installer.msi?dl=0
Yeah for 7 is "ok", but remember it's a competition. For people not aware of, you can trick Win7's timer as well.
It's Pieter's call, I for one will not be checking the scores so your result is safe
Then please Massman, say you word to clarify all that mess
The timer issue is only a problem for Windows 8. Windows 7 is fine.
Hehe, that's because you went from Enthusiast/Novice to Extreme League beween the rounds. The Formula series is only for the guys who never done extreme cooling.
So you can join the Extreme series, no problem.
Measurement is not a problem?!?!?!?!
Damn!!!!!
I've had a much better score but haven't saved it!
Thank you Massman, it is clear now
ok Thank you Pieter !
Hay Strat
Can I get that FM SI 4.34 linkage from you. Your link seems to be dead.
Thank you
@Meankeys, try this like I upload it for you : https://www.dropbox.com/s/2yf2x7mrz4mvxz6/Futuremark_SystemInfo_v434_installer.msi?dl=0
I made a last check before final check after comp is over, please check your scores tomorrow if they are still there, and if your score was removed, please check the main rules and the stage rules again
Wizerty - Just saw this - Thank You - Actually got strats link to work by installing the doc thingy
I appreciate that thank you guy's
Why my score on Stage 2 (Firestrike Physics) wa remove ?
http://hwbot.org/submission/2849639_zwitterion93_3dmark_fire_strike_physics_core_i7_4770k_17240_marks
Thank you
Kingston HyperX 2666c10 is not retail
- please read the rules, the mems you used were never retail and are ES only binned for HOT by Kingston, they were never sold at shops
OK, no problem my others score has been made with Trident X 2600C10 (retail) !
Thank you
