3D rule update
Since the last rule update the community has created more and more tool for 3D that let the user changes more and more voltages/clocks settings, especially on NVIDIA card. While this is good news for everyone it has caused some problem for how we moderate 3D scores.
The changes that we're going to implement are mostly temporary.... (hopefully UL finds a solution). Because we want to allow everyone to have greater control over their GPU without being punished for it, we will for now allow scores with the UL flag: This result is invalid as some system specifications appear to be modified in a way we cannot verify
Currently this can be caused by using a ECB mod or some of the new tools released by the community.
Because we don't want to create new rules everytime there's a new tool created by the community, video proof will be required for every score with this flag.
Video proof: full recording of the benchmark run with the screen clearly visible, the score must be within 0.25% ( about 100 points on port royal) of the final score uploaded.
Permanent changes to the 3D rules:
In addition to that a more permanent change will be the addition of a ECB box that you can check while uploading a score and we will also add Xbar clock section that MUST be filled when submitting a score when this clock is changed. This will be added to hwbot next week.
For users using Mvolt or any other tool that changes Xbar clock or any other clock that isn't monitored by the benchmark, the settings used during the benchmark run must be shown in the final screenshot.
looks like 1440p monitors will be needed for benching now lmao
Good changes !
That won't work for screenshots at all. Have you seen version 0.36 of mVolt+? It takes up 2/3 of the screen. There will be absolutely no room at all for verification screenshots of our benchmarks.
Just add a 2nd screenshot
This is getting harder and harder , just to run a bench .
I know the solution isn't ideal but this is the only way we can allow results with those tools for now. The alternative atm would be to do like UL and just not allow anything. I think those tools are great and we're just in the short period where benchmark have to adapt to monitor all those new clocks. Beside showing the clocks used makes it so there's less report about suspicious effeciency. But if the community wants simpler screenshot over being able to use those new tools im fine with banning all of it until UL fixes sysinfo. Let me know
Not in favor until UL has a fix.
if one just used stock cards, no 3rd party software the world would be a far easier place for sure :p
