Good stuff. Looks like dRweEz' efficiency was way off ... I wonder how high SKL will be able to take XTU
l0ud_sil3nc3 says:
I think this is a good measure of efficiency PJ

are you sure? I have 1640 at 5.2ghz seems right in line to me
Strunkenbold says:
Just joking man.
Though I wonder why skylake gains so much points in XTU. Its more efficient clock per clock but other benchs doesnt show that big advantage maybe 300-400Mhz advantage over Haswell but XTU? 6Ghz Haswell results get beaten by 5Ghz Skylake easily. Is DDR4 really so much faster?
xxbassplayerxx says:
Read somewhere (can't remember where) that Skylake is 25% faster with AVX2. Better instruction handling, I guess.
Massman says:
AVX would be my guess too
l0ud_sil3nc3 says:
Only Xeon branded Skylake sku's get the newest AVX 512 a.k.a. AVX 3 but I bet it maybe has something to do with this:

Regardless the hardest part about this bench is finding how much voltage before you throttle, go thermonuclear and score goes to shit.
