Elite Romanian Overclocker Alex@ro has been busy in the last few days, chipping away at several Global First Place scores in the 4x CPU category on HWBOT. Just two days ago he achieved some great scores using his Kaby Lake Core i7 7700K Intel processor - breaking GFP records in wPrime 1024M, wPrime 32M, Cinebench R11.5 and GPUPI for CPU 1B benchmarks. Nice going Alex!

The new Global First Place ranked score for a quad-core CPU in the wPrime 1024 bench mark now stands at a 1min 30sec 937ms, a run completed using a Core i7 7700K clocked at a very impressive 6,890MHz (+64.05%). The rig he’s using includes the popular ASUS ROG Maximus IX Apex motherboard. The score edges past Sweden’s Rauf in the rankings who made a run in just 1min 31sec 77ms. In wPrime 32M Alex managed to push his Core i7 7700K even harder, hitting a clock of 6,910MHz (+64.52%) to complete his run in 2sec 874ms. Memory settings include a DD4 kit pushed to 2001.5MHz (12-12-12-28).

Turning to the Cinebench R11.5 benchmark we see Alex@ro hit a new high score for a quad-core chip, posting a score of 16.87 points. To reach these heights he pushed his Core i7 7700K to 6,900MHz (+64.29%). Again the score surpasses the one made by Rauf who managed to hit 16.86 points earlier this month.

Finally in GPUPI for CPU 1B we find Alex to be the fastest in quad-core terms with a run of 3min 44sec 227ms. In this case his exceptionally gifted Kaby Lake chip was pushed to a massive 6,985MHz (+66.31%), the highest clock of the session. Greek overclocker $@39@ loses out this time with his run of 3min 44sec 533ms now relegated to second place in the rankings.

If we take a look at the World Rankings on HWBOT we can see that all of this hard work from Alex@ro has paid off, elevating him to third place on the table. In fact the from 3rd place to 6th place things are looking very tight and competitive – only 75 points separate these four place with Rauf (Sweden), Splave (US) and k|ngp|n (US) all sitting within striking distance of Alex@ro.
