Norway Leads Hardware Golden Cup Table; UK Most Global Gold
We already posted a news item about one of our other data-mining adventurous this weekend, but this one is also interesting. It requires a lot less explanation though, as we simply made a count of all the golden cups and ranked them per country. It's a bit like the medal count at the Olympics, although maybe slightly less prestigious.
Norway, home of Knopflerbruce, is currently leading in the hardware gold count. With just over 6,000 golden cups, Norway owns 13.18% of the number one hardware ranks. That is only 0.20% more than Germany, who is leading in the gold count only for benchmarks which also get points.
When we look at the global gold count, we can see that the United Kingdom (-ehem- 8 Pack) is now leading the tables. Last time we looked at the golden cup count, it was still the United States leading. We also see Australia in third place.
