Alex@ro (Romania) Wins GALAX GOC 2017 Final

Just two days ago the annual GALAX Overclocking Carnival contest took place in Bangkok, Thailand. The contest invited twelve of the world’s most respected and feared overclockers to compete in a live extreme overclocking contest with a $12,000 USD prize pool on offer - the biggest ever offered in a live GALAX GOC overclocking contest. Let’s take a look at the scores and winners of the contest in a little more detail.

GALAX GOC 2017 Finals: November 25th - The GALAX GOC 2017 contest took place at the Pantip Plaza in Bangkok, Thailand with the Overclockers from all over the world competing for some impressive cash prizes. All overclockers earned their place in the Finals contest by competing first in the online Qualification Contest.

Stage 1: Geekbench3 Multi Core (6GHz) - In the first stage we find Alex@ro (Romania) making his claim for a first place finish with a blindingly fast Geekbench 3 Multicore run that earned him 26,382 points. With Core i7 7740X frequencies limited to 6GHz his test was pretty much all about memory tuning, specifically in this case tuning GALAX Hall of Fame DDR4 4133MHz (4x 8GB) kits. Alex@ro managed to hit a frequency of 2110.4MHz (4,220MHz effective) using 12-11-11-28 timings. In runner up spot in Stage 1 we find dogna (Japan) with 26,281 points, while DrWeez (South Africa) makes third with 26,168 points.
