Corsair Dominator GTX4 RAM rated for 2,533MHz

$650 for a 2x2GB kit ...

Remember those DDR3 modules Corsair guaranteed to run at 2,400MHz in January? Those are already old hat, thanks to the release of a Corsair Dominator GTX4 DDR3 module rated for operation at a blistering 2,533MHz. The Dominator GTX4 purportedly achieves that clock speed with 9-11-10-30 timings and a voltage level of 1.65V—just right for platforms based on Intel's Core i3, i5, and i7 processors. Actually, Corsair says each GTX4 module is tested by hand on systems running "hand-selected" Core i7-800 processors and Gigabyte P55 motherboards.

Make it 975$ for a triple channel kit :D [ and add another 5000$ for 980X sampling to get one with a great IMC to play this kit high on X58 :p ]

I don't see any point of this product other than marketing (look at us, now we make the fastest mems in the world, not G.Skill) First of all, it's very difficult to find a CPU that can actually run MemTest at 1266. So far I have tested 53 (fifty-three) 860/870/3460/3470 chips and only ONE (1.9%) was stable at 1230 (memtest 200%) and semi-stable (memtest 100%) at 1250. As for Gulftown - max order is 2pcs, so I don't think the memory is made for those chips. Second, even if you manage to get these to spec, I don't think that the performance will be any better than with Elpida Hyper running, say, 1000 with 8-8-7 or 7-8-7. Third, price is actually $800 for 2x2Gb because Corsair online shop does not include VAT and shipping ;)
