Testing the HKEPC α0 (Alpha-zero) LN2 CPU pot (video)

Testing the HKEPC α0 (Alpha-zero) LN2 pot. The temperature drop is insane - keeps a stable temp too! And all based on science ... that's how we like it!

Uploaded the video to Facebook, but also posting at HWBOT especially for SoF as he doesn't have a FB-account ;) :D

Cannot believe this is posted here.

What's the problem, Viss?

That is an amazing container for running with a full pot.

It's not a commercial project :(

Too bad. I like it. :(

Oh, I assume it's about the last part of the video?

The problem we ran into was the multiplier being stuck at 40x. Didn't have time to debug, but it's probably something ME related. The board did perfectly fine yesterday, apparently, so it's just one of those things that happen when xtreme overclocking. It's not a general bug or so ... we were just making some jokes during the pot demo.

Mainly just testing that pot, though ... it was interesting to see it in action :).

Netherlands Viss says:

Nothing to do with the board and not a problem either :) I just find it strange your posting on the FP about yr session with a guy who was banned just recently for several dodgy submissions.

says:

any problem ?

Belgium Massman says:

I see. Well, even though I understand your point of view, for me what happens online does 100% define what happens in real life. If someone invites me to talk overclocking or hardware outside the realms of the internet, I will gladly accept that invitation. Anyway, the video is not about dodgy-looking benchmark submissions but about an interesting CPU pot design ... just wanted to share an on-hands video with the community.

Well, compare with the case where Andre got a 1y ban - which effectively connected OCing outside HWBot and OCing within HWBot. By happily benching in public with a guy who is currently banned for screenshot editing you're kinda saying there is no connection between the two, that what we do here does not matter elsewhere. It's fine with me personally if you bench if JL, but then you should issue AY a 1y get outta jail free card to get some sort of consistency here :p and the same with the other guys who cheated in competitions that had nothing to do with us. In fact, this is the only fair option - as the 'damage' is already done.

Maybe Dennis is the replacement Massman, so the real Massman has time to do other things like learn to manufacture artificial record subs. :D

Nice Pot, i want one :ws:

Can you send me one of this, at the other side of the world ?

United Kingdom El Gappo says:

Thought that was an Aaron Schradin number that one.

Australia Jimba says:

ooh..Nice pot. im currently looking at pots(CPU/GPU/etc) to get into sub-zero..So many choices..why does someone do a comparison of the popular ones? I have good CPU and GPU pots on the way but cant find a good priced fat GPU one.. :(

Get outta jail free card?

I'm just talking overclocking and, specifically, talking LN2 pots with someone who wants to talk about it. We didn't 'bench' or 'make submissions'. I don't understand what you are talking about regarding AY - people still talked to him during and after the ban.

There's nothing "inconsistent" or "unfair" about my behavior.

It's not commercial ... it's not possible to buy one.

El Gappo said: Thought that was an Aaron Schradin number that one.

Same principles, apparently. The Aaron Schradin pot was lying around the office as well, by the way, but didn't have time to also test that one.

much better, send me a sample of this Pot and I can try with my crude overclock, "che" Guevara's style :p

Italy Bob80 says:

I was wondering, what kind of material has been used to do this pot ?

Germany der8auer says:

I would guess: Base: Copper Mounting: PTFE or POM Pipe: PMMA

mounting made of PE :)

Hong Kong Mad222 says:

As far as I know, the Pot was actually designed & made by a Taiwanese kid who has been working very hard in the past few months. Perhaps, John did make some input

By looking at the video, the temp drops as fast as the “evaporator” at -188c with less than 1.5L LN2...and that reminds me of Aaron! I’m sure I want to try that pot & see how good it is

Well, I think encouragement and credits should be given to this kid “蔡瑞桓”
& I do believe even Vince will do the same

Gamers Temp probe can do even far beter magic :p Ranging from 80°C to -140 in a matter of seconds :p you just need to mess with the connections Nice work there on the pot... more then ideal for AMD too then... this is the A plus labelled LN2 pot to have for cheaper, economical benching !

Denmark M.Beier says:

Great light load pot! Winner for dualies and light quads! Ofc. gulfy, 840XE and other heavy warm chips wont work as effecient! However, I prefer the old name of the pot ;)
