HWBOT announces official partnership with GeIL

As of April 15th 2011, GeIL has become an official HWBOT partner. Established in 1993, GeIL has soon become one of the most professional memory module manufactures in the industry. Favored by top overclockers, we are sure they will rise in popularity throughout the overclocking community too.

We would like to express our gratitude to GeIL to make HWBOT financially viable, making it possible for us to continue promoting overclocking and supporting their communities. Expect competitions funded by GeIL and GeIL specific achievements in the next few months.

Thank you GeIL!

This is what makes me excited. Straight from the official company profile page:

You just know things are okay when "Overclocking Technology" is part of the company profile :D

Christian Ney says:

congratz

United States Hondacity says:

that is good news...

i tested geil....it was good. but a little on the pricey side...

Belgium leeghoofd says:

Good one Massie !! Thanks GeIl, the community thanks you !!

Austria Turrican says:

good news indeed :)

TaPaKaH says:

not the first mem.brand that comes to mind ... but at least they put some nice PSC on the cheaper stuff which is very overclocker-ish

Germany Masterchief79 says:

good news, always good to hear when HWBot gets more support by big brands :)

Germany Hyperhorn says:

Nice, Geil had some pretty nice kits with tight specs back in the days, e.g. the well-known Evo One rated for DDR-400 1.5-2-2-5 and DDR-600 2.5-4-4-7 or the DDR2-1160-kit rated for 4-4-4-12 latencies (and up to 2.55 V :D). However I've never seen the DDR2-1160-kit for sale/in the wild, only reviews ...

WAHOU, those DDR1, I want :D

Why not the DDR2 too, maybe better than my GSKill

Greece zoro says:

very nice! so happy! indeed GEIL's products worth every $ :)

I had two (pic), bought on ebay

Christian Ney says:

You still have them ?

Do you have some results with ?

Germany Hyperhorn says:

These are re-selled review kits fore sure. :p j/k
From what I've seen they were just binned pretty good and required a high voltage (like every other D9-ICs would) to run these settings, but are not superior to other RAM with the same ICs, but (s)lower specs.

Christian Ney says:

Ok so my value memory with D9-ICs are still uptodate :D PC2-5300 5-5-5-15

TaPaKaH says:

disagree about them being "average" - both kits were one of the best GMH kits I ever tested
kit1: 1000/4-4-4/2.0V, 1200/5-5-5/1.95V
kit2: 1000/4-4-4/2.0V, 1200/5-5-5/1.95V
(usually, GMH needs 2.2V for each of those runs)

Christian Ney says:

Are you sure they were GMH and not GKX ?

If GMH is true then for sure those are the best ;)

My GMH : 2.6v 485 MHz 4-4-4-12

My GKX : 2.6v 650 MHz 4-4-3-3

TaPaKaH says:

facepalm, there was never any difference between GCT, GMH and GKX

Wow! Is this Sam being positive? :D

Christian Ney says:

On my side, I see a lot of difference between them

I have one of those crazy BH5 kits that GeIL used to make back in the day, rated at 400MHz 1.5-2-2-5 and 500MHz 2-2-2-5 :D

Christian Ney says:

How much for them bro
?

TaPaKaH says:

I used to have one as well (pic) but it was UTT and nothing special. My 2x512 HyperX 3500 with "old BH5" are much better.

dinos22 said: LMAO probably because he has a sale pending or something :D
yet another wrong guess ;)
I actually had to send one of those kits to RMA and it turned out that it was a mis-labeled 1066 4-4-4 kit : sticker says 1160, but SPD and PN on the back suggest 1066, pic (btw, judging by the SN i think there were much less than 100 kits ever in the wild)

Greece zoro says:

i don't see the logo yet :p
i would also like to see ASUS,ASROCK ans Sapphire (very popular in Greece)

United States sin0822 says:

nice support i didn't even know they still existed!

United States ShrimpBrime says:

Whoopty Fucking Doo Garbage sigh, nothing special just another ad to look at....

United States Hondacity says:

without partners....you think f1 racing will be successful?

Belgium richba5tard says:

Only if people payed 12.000$ for an entry ticket to view it. :P

United States Hondacity says:

is that 12,000$? lol

United States Hondacity says:
