whats real volts?
xxbassplayerxx says:
1.75V. I'm having the same issue with this chip that I had with my 6600K. Splave has tested that one for over 6.4GHz in HWBot Prime... For the life of me I can't get these chips even remotely stable over 6GHz. The highest I could pass HWBP on this one was 5.7GHz but it was fully capable of running 5G HWBP at 1.35V on water, before delid. Adding voltage doesn't seem to help, either.
I may be snagging an OCF today to see if it's the board (or me being unable to clock well on the board).

EDIT: Real volts were what was shown. Looks like I forgot. When Extreme mode is enabled on CPU-Z, it usually shows 1.35V or something. I thought that was what was happening.

Sounds like bad contact. Can happen if you keep the glue on both pcb and ihs and use "normal" amount of tim on the die. I always scrape off the glue on ihs, keep it on the pcb. Perfect mount every time.
xxbassplayerxx says:
Interesting thought... I'm using "normal" TIM and have glue on both.... Picked up a M8G and setting it up to go cold so we'll see!
Rauf says:
check temps in xtu (when cold)
xxbassplayerxx says:
Rauf, temps were fine
