Dancops Recent Rampage Leaves Us All In Awe - Closing in on 8 Pack in Overclockers League

Author: TheMadDutchDude

During the last few days, we’ve seen some incredible scores all-round from various overclockers across the globe, but there is one overclocker in particular who has been receiving a lot of attention from the community. Can you guess who it is? His results have topped the recent rankings on the home page over the last couple of days. No? Still no clue? Well, he goes by the name of “Dancop,” and is currently ranked second in the Elite league, closely behind the current number one, “8 Pack.” The scores which Dan has been submitting have been with his incredible Intel Core i7-4770K and within the 2D arena where he has massacred multiple world records on a daily basis.

He began by smashing world records which were set by the likes of AndreYang, TeamAU, Vivi and 8 Pack, you know, just to name a few. Some of the records such as the Super Pi 32M score, which was set by Andre, had previously been untouchable. A select few have come very close to besting it, but they’ve never managed to take his place. That was until very recently where it fell into the hands of Dancop, whilst the rest of us in this community have been left to admire his skills, his CPU and his record busting run(s).

One world record that surprised me personally was his Super Pi 32M run, probably due to the fact that some of us are completely obsessed with finding the perfectly binned PSC based memory for Super Pi. Other than the incredible chip that he has the pleasure of using, he has proven without a single doubt that Samsung ICs are more than up to the task of taking a world record. Of course, this is merely one of the results which he submitted. There are plenty of others, check them out from the list below. Oh, and try not to be too envious ... if you can!

  • PiFast – 9.700sec
  • Super Pi 1M - 5.172sec – whilst this isn’t a Global First Place, it’s a number one spot for the 4770K rankings
  • Super Pi 32M – 4min 32sec 31ms
  • wPrime 32M – 3sec 421ms – joint first with two other members (Chi-Kui Lam and Vivi) with identical scores.
  • There are still a number of benchmarks in which he has not unleashed this monster 4770K on to just yet. At the time this article was written, Dan is just shy of 200 points short of overtaking Ian (8 Pack) and claiming the crown as the world’s fastest overclocker. Personally, I think that the crown is about to change hands and that we will see Dancop at the very top of the world. The current king may have a few aces up his sleeves, though. We know that he has had many in the past, and they’ve been dubbed “8Backups” (rather fitting, right?) by our lovely crowd on the forums.

What do you think will happen in the next few weeks? It’s certainly exciting to say the least. In the meantime, a very well deserved word of congratulations goes to Dancop and his recent results!
