Devil’s Canyon Core i7 4790K and Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition Computex Overclocking Results
On the first day of Computex 2014, Intel hosted its Intel OC Challenge competition. The competition feature industry overclocking teams as well as an amateur side-show. You can find the details on both competitions respectively here and here. The main attraction of the overclocking competition was the new Devil’s Canyon Core i7 4790K, clocked at 4.0GHz by default. HWBOT was part of the organization, taking care of the scoreboard, and we collected data on the overclocking capabilities of the Devil’s Canyon. You can find the overclocking results of the professional and amateur overclockers below.
Note that in the professional competition the teams were allowed to tweak the ambient temperature, whereas in the amateur competition the contestants were only allowed to use a Cooler Master AIO cooler. Also note that we did not include the CPU-Z Validation results. If anyone wants that list too, let me know and I'll go look for the validation files!
