New rule for 3D Xtal swap and ECB mod
Recently the community has started experimenting more and more with Xtal and ECB mod on gpu like the RTX 5090, this allows to push the results even further due to the fact that it affect some clocks that we normally don't have control over with current software like Xbar ( can be detected in GPU-Z).
Because this wasn't a popular mod before we didn't have any problem and was handle case by case. But with the current gpu situation, if someone wants to compete for the top scores it is required. This has the effect that we cannot correctly monitor scores based on the core/memory clock because those are skewed. For the moment UL (3Dmark) has implemented a temporary solution that invalidate scores that use this mod, but are currently working on a more permanent solution and both UL and HWBOT would like this mod to be allowed.
For the moment the rules clearly state for most benchmark that the 3dmark link must be valid, because of the current situation we will allow scores that have the new UL flag that invalidate the score ( This result is invalid as some system specifications appear to be modified in a way we cannot verify. This could be the result of physical hardware modifications that bypass built-in driver restrictions or issues with the GPU driver installation)
Because we cannot properly compare and detect core/memory/Xbar clocks and the mod could be used to hide some cheats, all scores in the top20 using this mod must also be upload with video proof and gpu core and memory clock section must be filed with the updated clocks.
Video proof: full recording of the benchmark run with the screen clearly visible, the score must be within 0.25% ( about 100 points on port royal) of the final score uploaded.
All the current score done with this mod must be updated with video proof before 2026/07/30
This is great, good moderating meets with clockers pushing hardware even more than before !
