Ready for the Next Generation of GamingASUS GeForce GTX graphics cards provide a powerful next-generation platform for the ultimate immersive virtual reality experience. Immersive VR requires seven times the graphics processing power of traditional 3D apps and games. ASUS graphics cards feature unique PCB designs, augmented by superior components and a world-class thermal solution, perfectly fitting the requirement for performance, image quality, latency, and durability, so you can game on, fully immersed in VR, without interruption. |
Where Style Meets PerformanceFeaturing Aura RGB Lighting on both the shroud and backplate, ROG Strix graphics cards are capable of displaying millions of colors and up to six different effects for the perfect light show. |
ASUS FanConnectWhen gaming, GPU temperatures are often higher than CPU temps. However, chassis fans usually reference CPU temperatures only, which results in inefficient cooling of the system. For optimal thermal performance, ROG Strix graphics cards feature two 4-pin GPU-controlled headers that can be connected to system fans for targeted cooling. |
Features

DirectCU III with 0dB Fan TechnologyExclusive DirectCU III cooling technology features a trio of 0dB fans and direct-GPU contact heat-pipes that transport more heat away from the GPU and outperforms reference designs. |
ASUS Auto Extreme TechnologyThe ASUS exclusive Auto Extreme component assembly process removes the variables of a human production line and replaces it with the precision of a fully automated assembly system. The resulting graphics cards are more reliable than hand built alternatives. |
Game Your WayRedesigned with an intuitive, all-new UI, GPU Tweak II makes overclocking easier and more visual than ever, while still retaining advanced options for seasoned overclockers. With one click, the new Gaming Booster function maximizes system performance by removing redundant processes and allocating all available resources automatically. XSplit Gamecaster lets you easily stream or record your gameplay right from a convenient, in-game overlay. |

When the new 10-series Gpus released, I decided to do some research on the differences between all the major brands and compare them. Evga was having some reliability issues with their 10 series gpus and after talking about it with my buddies on the Asus RoG forum for a few weeks. I decided to put the trigger and buy my first Strix Gpu! And I could not be more happy with the results! I truly feel that the Asus Strix of GPUs are the superior to all the other brands this current generation (sorry EVGA). I love the Aura sync RGB lighting. It works great with my Maximus viii Herp Alpha motherboard's RGB lighting. Not only does the Strix look sleek and sexy, the fans are quiet yet powerful. It manages to keep cool, even under heavy loads and long gaming sessions. (Haven't seen the temps go higher than low 60°'sC even running the most graphically intensive current gen games!) No coil whine or Jet turbine noise here lol! They also overclock really well, even the versions that are already overclocked from the factory. I got my 08G's memory overclocked and additional +1000mhz from its factory overclock.
If you can't afford to drop the cash on a 1080, the 1070 is by far the best bang for your buck! It's a real powerhouse. I upgraded from an older GTX 970 FTW and the difference in performance is night and day!
I do have to mention that I am writing this review in part to recieve points in the Asus RoG Elite Rewards program. However I purchased this GPU last year and have been loving every moment of it. I only just signed up for the Elite program recently and had formed my opinion of this gpu loooong before signing up for the Elite program. They also don't award any different value of points for a good or bad review, so I assure you that the points have no effect on my honest review! I freakin love this card and will definitely consider sticking with Asus Gpus in the future....

The dilemma: For $500 people can buy a whole computer, a new phone, or pay a month's of rent.
The solution: For less than that people can get the GTX 1070, but it has sub-par performance and less than adequate cooling on most units.
Enter: The STRIX OC. The STRIX line has always been aligned with gamers with many ordinary people just brushing it off and disregarding it. However with this card, I can tell you EVERYONE should get one. The card offers great performance with no let down for speed. In video editing I can now use CUDA acceleration, and even furthermore, I can render videos in less time that it took to make the video. That's amazing.
So what makes this card so special. The 2.46GHz (according to the Heaven Benchmark) clock speed that I have thrown at this card. That's right! Throw the sliders all the way to the right and watch as your computer turns into an airplane (yes, they are loud, the fans) but it's worth every penny.
Slip this card into some water and BAM! You could have the best card around! I have tested this and now used it for about two months now with an E5-2650v3 AND an i7 5820K with steady framerates (even in Dishonored 2). I can't recommend this card ENOUGH.
So what are the breakdown points?
What's great:
+Card stays below 70°C nearly all the time, even under full load with a semi-aggressive fan curve
+Card gets to 2.48GHz on AIR (Holy crap!)
+Card can blaze through any game with no issue
+Offers the latest generation of CUDA acceleration
+Offers the world renown GeForce Experience
+Has no issues with authority and loves unconditionally
What sucks:
+Updates to the Geforce Suite (nearly one a week, now)
+Built in software sucks for monitoring and tweaking.
+You have to download the software separately to manage the lighting
+It's GIANT and HEAVY (serious GPU sag alert!)
+NO CASE STICKER! (I PAY THIS MUCH FOR A PRODUCT, I EXPECT A CASE STICKER!)
Conclusion: Is it great? Oh goddess me, yes! It is a great product and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a 1070. Don't look elsewhere because this card is the only one you need.

There was one real issue. The cd with the drivers on weren't recognised by windows "Please insert a disc into the drive" had to go online and download the drivers. Bit annoying when you drop that kind of money on hardware.
