HWBOT OC Challenge November 2011

Nowadays, AMD is king of the frequency hill. But, for those who have not been around for so long, that hasn't always been the case. Before Deneb came along, AMD was actually known for its poor clocking ability (and before that for its high clocking ability again)! Anyways, this month we'll be focussing on overclocking some of the AMD architectures from past and present.

We lined up five stages with quite broad limitations, all based on CPU family: K6, K7, K8, K10 and Vision. The team that manages to get the best clocks wins the competition! Good luck!

Oh, right, before we forget. AMD has provided hwbot.org with a Bulldozer sample to, and I quote, "do a review, an overclocking test or give away as prize". So, generous as we are, we're putting up the untested Bulldozer sample as prize! To win, you need to do two things:

  • 1) win a stage
  • 2) win the lucky draw amongst stage winners
