ES CPU allowed?

June 21, 2014 at 4:02:11 PM UTC

any brand of vga?

Gtx 780 ti classified allowed?

June 21, 2014 at 4:58:55 PM UTC

The air/water category is interesting. Can you elaborate the "verification link must display the CPU and GPU temperature. For air and water cooling the minimum temperature must be 30°C." part?

Does it mean, temperature can be controlled with LN2 Pot/chilled waterblock as long as the temp doesn't reach below 30 C?

Oh, and can ES CPU and ES GPU(e.g MSI GTX 780 Ti Lightning) be used? Thanks :)

June 22, 2014 at 4:35:04 AM UTC

I think GIGABYTE Z87 could be allowed!

June 22, 2014 at 9:33:19 AM UTC

ANY GTX780TI WILL BE ALLOWED?

June 23, 2014 at 1:00:45 AM UTC

Yeh, this comp needs some serious clarification. Especially in regards to the temperature thing.

and can we make it 20 degrees? because my watercooling loop isnt crap.

June 23, 2014 at 1:17:34 AM UTC

i have ambient of 29-31 degrees in here,any watercooling is crap,unless it's chiller..... :D

- The cooling part must be an air or water cooler. No liquid nitrogen!

- You can chill the water but the temperatures cannot go below 30°C

- ES CPU and GPU have always been allowed for Gigabyte competitions

June 23, 2014 at 2:22:45 AM UTC

There is no brand restriction with the GPU

June 23, 2014 at 2:42:09 AM UTC

How would you like us to prove its not gone below 30 degrees?

June 23, 2014 at 3:52:11 AM UTC

Damnit Gigabyte, it's like your forcing my hand to buy a 780ti just to keep up. :D

My 780 idles well below that so I can't take part

awesome comp!!

We check the Catzilla verification link. The temperature cannot go below 30°C in load. If it's idling lower, that's fine.

June 23, 2014 at 10:45:09 AM UTC

the catzilla link shows this?

hell, I dont even know what my GPU does during load.

Yeah, catzilla logs all that crap and displays it on their server, much like the futuremark does, not that anyone cares.

When it works, which for me is never.

ES hardware is allowed.

Processor cooling is limited to Standard Stock Cooling, Air Cooling, Water Cooling.

By definition of HWBot rules you can use a water chiller but like Massman already posted your load temperature must be higher than 30°C

C'mon guys, seriously for those who are directly looking for non legit work arounds on the temps for the air/liquid category.

Give the real air/liquid guys an honest chance to have fun themselves. It is quite simple: play along nicely with the laid down rules, this without even trying to read in between the lines... no subzero stuff near the setup plz :D

June 23, 2014 at 5:18:11 PM UTC

I was going to ask if it was possible to lower the temperature to 20°C, but if it's a LOAD temperature, well, 30°C is great then :D

June 23, 2014 at 8:58:15 PM UTC

You can run 1.9Vgpu on the card with a chiller, it should load around 30c :D

June 23, 2014 at 10:50:13 PM UTC

My idle here in the Philippines with watercooling is 36C already :D

I will be joining in the Air/Liquid category. Need to buy a good GPU because of this contest :D

June 23, 2014 at 10:55:46 PM UTC

I've got 8 degrees out of my water tap. You mean I should use the one with hot water? :D

HEAR HEAR :)

Maybe we should raise it to 50C :nana:

I'm gonna have to unplug the fans on this bad boy when I have a 12 degree ambient here in Melbourne, Australia.
