GIGABYTE announces the launch of a global Graphics Card overclocking competition, "OC Guru is You!". This event coincides with the recent announcement of GIGABYTE’s latest family of Graphics Cards, the Super Overclock Series. Contestants around the world are invited to upload the ultimate score at HWBOT. In total, three prizes are on the line: the winner of the 3DMark Vantage - Performance stage takes home a cheque of US $1500 and the winner of the GPU Score stage wins a GIGABYTE HD 5870 Super Overclock series graphics card with GPU Gauntlet Sorting and Ultra Durable VGA. In addition, one lucky participant will receive a GIGABYTE HD 5750 (GV-R575SL-1GI) just for submitting a score to the competition. The competition will be held from April 1st to April 30th. Please, pay close attention to the benchmark limitations: Gigabyte VGA and Gigabyte mainboard only!

The overclock who hits the highest score in the 3DMark Vantage - Performance: GPU Score stage will be the happy owner of a GIGABYTE HD 5870 Super Overclock Series graphics card.
Highest Vantage Overall: US $1500

The overclocker who manages to grab the win in the 3DMark Vantage - Performance stage takes home a US $1500 cash prize.

This is an online event. Participants can compete from all around the world, and make submissions online.

As this is an official level 1 OC-ESPORTS competition, competitors will receive points for the final ranking as following:

First place: 10 Points
Second place: 8 Points
Third place: 6 Points
Fourth place: 4 Points
Fifth place: 2 Points

The BIG joke is that I kinda like hicoockie BUT after his 1M Super-Pi with his 670 CPU and after this, I don't want to face him anymore.....

To be a crazy guy (like him) it's cool and I liked that BUT to be an arsshole, it's AGAINST my principals.... :mad:

Let's just say I could do this with the VGA 1400/1430... and I had UP to 1.9V to feed my CPU...

To be specific, there is ONLY ONE IC that exists on ES cards BUT it's doing nothing more than "helping" work the Gigabyte's program to feed more VCore........I don't use this program - I always mod....

I don't know if it was hicookie posting scores via multiple accounts.

But from my communication with a few Gigabyte contacts that I have I have the impression that they were working under pressure and they needed to attract as many people they could to participate in this contest, there was an "urge" to get people to submit scores.

Maybe an angry boss ? I don't know, but that's how I comprehended their e-mails and behavior.

Using a public forum is like announcing through the PA system during a soccer game. If you feel that's "face to face", then OK. I just say... keep it civil. Just saying this BEFORE this thing turns into flaming.
