About Me

I am a LGA 771 / 775 passionnate, and bench mostly on DDR2 and DDR3 Intel platforms. More specifically I stayed a while on 775, moving back and forth to AM2/3 platforms, but eventually stuck with Intel. After pushing most Xeon 771 quadcore chips to the WRs with a 360mm WC system, I decided to tackle some 1155 and 1150 cpus for fun, with an AIO 240 WC and next on my 360 mm WC, using delidding/relidding with conductonaut, for Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell chips. I rely mostly on hardware scoring, I hardmod a bit, and repare as much as I can defective/capricious motherboards.

I own a sweet amount of (excellent) DDR2 and start building off a nice pile of very good DDR3...

For those interested, here are some info, in French (yeah... I know...) regarding the 771/775 mod:

Cost on graphics card only expensive if you buy modern, last few years. Far more interesting & challenging. Low cost 8800/9800 Nvidia series are fun. You can keep them running good if you redo thermal pads / paste.

Do you only race processor? Sure more points but not a challenge like 3D benches.

bolc Only when required by oc-esports competitions... and generally not the best...

bolc I race also ram memories. The cost of graphic cards is prohibitive and far too risky in term of damages compared to a cpu...

bolc I also do not bench ddr4 platforms yet. So big global points are not for me, but will be in few years when the ddr5 platofmrs will be out :o
