Adding 4 10F super-caps (3x GPU 1x Ram) and setting the voltage to 1.35v does not help. After some thermal imaging (thx to my neighbor) I got the conclusion that yes the VRM overheats. So I added a fan on the backside and a plate (at first) on the "front". I later removed the gold heatsink and added a thermal pad that touches the stock heatsink. Special thx to @buildzoid :)
