Insane CPU, lucky you! Too bad that i dont have that MSI board anymore, it would be fun to test how my 5,8GHz 3930K does with it.. Keep pushing!

Hey sorry I couldnt respond as I wasent able to login till now!
You were right there man so close, But I think these boards hate the cold as much as the CPU's!!
The chip I have dosent seem to matter to much as I know someone with the same Batch# and he cant get close! So maybe it does have something to do with the Mobo as well.
I tested the Asrock / Gigabyte and MSI boards, found the Asrock & MSI boards both took the host clock with no issues up to 127 clock which seems to be part of the trick with these CPU's, the Gigabyte boards HATE BCLK so thats a issue right of the bat and I told them this! as I dont feel they like huge multipliers alone. Finding just the right Clock with Multiplier takes alot of trial & error .
Excellent work your team did and I'm sure you all worked long and hard!
Remember records are ment to be broken so who knows, but I have room still
Thanks Again

Looks like TW don't have best SB-E chips yet
congratz

Actually, yeah. With this chip in the right hands, we might as well see USA on top of the overal rankings again!
Asmola says:
Im trying to get that board in to my hands again and hopely im able to improve my results.
says:
MSI has been kind enough to provide me with a BB2 and a pair of 7970's so I will be looking to do some big benching early next week as I have company in the weekend
The tricky part is the COLD as we all now know and Asus has no FIX they have a workaround as I been informed tricking the chip.
Still the boards that can use the Host/BCLK will do much better that I can asure you of!
Hope to be getting some nice scores for the US

PS, Asmola yes get that dam board back!!!! I do think it is as good if not better than the Asus RE4
abeeftec says:
What do you mean "In the right hands?"
LN2?
I dont think LN2 makes any difference in this series over a good phase change unit.
I have noticed that the margins between LN2 and phase have been getting closer and closer each series.
For 5 years I have watched T&B get within an eye lash of records with each series with only a phase change unit. He never sought attention for it.
LN2 guys are usually sitting on a ton of chips and a few boards(T&B did this with 2 chips and 3 boards). Problem is that once your out of LN2 sessions over. Can you really study a chip for its absolute top for days like you can on a good phase changer?
I do believe the chip is in the right hands.
Edit: Hey i'm a Kitchen Robot!

Where did I say the chip isn't in the right hands at this moment? ...
abeeftec says:
Its funny how the mind sees what it wants to see. I read it again after you said that and see what you were saying. I read emphasis on the beginning of the sentence.

Really waiting to see what that CPU can do on the XPower II!

Will be loading the BB2 this weekend with a set of 7970 cards
