London International Technology Show (Yoyotech.co.uk stand) massman & dinos22 benching wooohoooo GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD7 FTMFW!
Excellent job!
dinos-san! You did it!! Congrats:)
Nice one Dino !!
Good job man :)
well done dino
Congrats :-) UD7 rev 1.1 already?
Good job Dino & Massman!
gooood jub toink
Boooiinnnnggg !
Well done guys!! My question - does the chip live to fight another day? I wanted a living chip and held off at 1.8V and was thus limited to ~7.6Ghz. If yours seems ok, I might give it another try. :p
After the 8.15G validation, the chip ran 7GHz 3DMark11 fully stable. I think it's still alive ... ;)
Ahh...good news. Might give mine another go then. Did you guys use the UD7 rev. 1.1 with only LLC control or did you hard-mod it?
anything else to show apart from CPU-Z validation ?
Dino has a bunch of 3D screenshots ... you don't want to see them honestly. 4-Way GTX 580 + Bulldozer FX-8150 at stock scores ... 12522 points in 3DMark11. Goes up to 14.5k at 4.6G and 16.6k at 5.5G. At stock CPU speed, the opening FPS in GT1 are the same for 3Way and 4-Way. The platform is totally CPU limited. Going up with the cards from stock to 1100gpu gave us not even 1000 points :-/
Interesting question!
We used the latest revision of the UD7 board. We had LLC at the highest setting and above 5G that was giving us stability issues. With the other LLC values, we had no stability issues anymore.
Stability was only an issue with all cores enabled, by the way. Not for validation.
That's what I was afraid of. LinX can tank voltage with LLC on extreme at 24/7 clocks. Prime doesn't. I'll try the other settings. Thanks for the detail!
ffs, everyone keeps saying "they're bad, you don't want to see them" ... how bad ?I wrote some 3D11 score indications in a few posts ago. Yes, we were focussing on 3D11. No 2D benchmarks, just 3D testing.
Wow...that's just awful. Yep, bot competitors will be buying Bulldozer to compete against Bulldozer only. Heh, you guys should have focused on 2D. :p
We managed to get two cards from Gigabyte VGA dept. If you achieve that, you just can't do anything else besides benching them :D. Bulldozer is quite fun, though. Too bad we only had a couple of days to get to know the system. There's a lot of performance left in the system. (for clarification: getting one card from vga dept is near impossible, let alone two)
Q. F. T. :d
nice result. :)
how many chips did you test?
Nice job :D
We had 2. This is the first one; the second one died at 6.6GHz.
So basically, we only tested one.
great effort Dino and massman!
damm you guys are amazing what you do...:D
Thanks all, i had screenshots on one of the HDDs and guess what i copied the wrong backup drive's backup folder LOL. I emailed the guys at UK office to extract the files for me but essentially we could bench up to 7Ghz 3DMARK11 which is really nice. I wasnt expecting that. Talking about not expecting something, macci mentioned on livestream he didnt expect us to hit 8GHz. Something tells me we might be pushing way past 8.2 once we actually test more than 1 CPU LMAO :D
btw guys, we identified a problem with LLC, btw this is version 1.1 board with LLC implemented. On the highest level of LLC it starts to affect stability past 5Ghz. When I dropped to one level down i was able to bench at 7Ghz 3DMARK11 (we figured it out 5 minutes before the end of 3 days benching OF COURSE LMAO). Anyways dont use the highest LLC setting when benching...
so first cpu died coz of llc-10?
What batch? 1139GPM i tested was stuck at 7.3GHz. Need moar CPUs :)
i uploaded a couple of scores with 4 cards...... we just used 2GHz NB, Auto ram timings etc so from that aspect it could have been a bit better but efficiency was still off. I also have a 4way score with 4.2GHz 1090T on the database in which GT1 for example was way ahead and i bet CPU scores would be stronger too if i tried it at 5.5
Tiborr was that with two cores only for CPUz or multicore benching?
nar we used the same LLC (extreme present or something like that) with first chip for the 3 days and it had no issues. The chip was probably on its last legs before we got it imo
