Intel Sandy Bridge Processors and Mobos Spotted At Local Retailers

As far as I know, the next generation of Intel Core processors or more fondly known for now as Sandy Bridge will only be revealed early next year; most probably at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2011 in Las Vegas. However, it seems that some of our local retailers already have them on sale.

As shown on the screenshot above, the latest pricelist from the well-known retailer Compuzone contained quite a number of the new processors line which are marked by a 4-digit model number instead of the usual 3-digit. The document also listed plenty of motherboards from ASUS and Gigabyte for the new processors which are using the all-new Socket 1155. Furthermore, Compuzone have also even posted photos of the processors and motherboards on their Facebook page.

It is hard to say whether Compuzone have jumped the gun or Intel have silently released the new 2011 Intel Core processors into the market but since there are no news coming from other retailers – except for Socket 1155 motherboards that are also available from StarTec and Viewnet, both explanations seem pretty plausible.
