Ryba wins OC GURU IS YOU – GIGABYTE AMD HD 5000 OC Challenge

The second edition of GIGABYTE’s “OC Guru Is You” competition has been won by Polish overclocker ryba. This former top-10 overclocker managed to beat French overclocker Topalof in a competition based on the AMD platform: Thuban and HD 5770. Because of the win in both stages of the competition, ryba will be receiving an envelope of USD $1500 and a HD 5770 SOC video card.

The competition really kicked off when Topalof presented his first scores somewhere in the middle of May. Using an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T clocked at 5.7GHz, and an Ati Radeon HD 5770 clocked at 1400/1420MHz, initial top scores of P15759 and 13748 (GPU score) were set.

But then ryba came along, hitting a pretty impressive 1420/1547MHz, taking not only the competition trophy but also the World Record in the HD 5770 category. Equipped with a GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5 mainboard, this youngster managed to set scores of P15998 and a GPU score of 14102. Excellent!

On a side note, the two last precision challenges have been won by Zoro and Milans. Both overclockers will be contacted soon for further details.
