AMD Rock Tour Indonesia 2017: Win Prizes Benching AMD Ryzen Processors

Right now AMD is running an online overclocking called the AMD Rock Tour Indonesia 2017. The name actually stands for AMD Ryzen Overclocking Tournament and its focused entirely on the country of Indonesia, one of the world’s most passionate overclocking hubs. The contest kicked off on November 20th and will run until the 16th of December. The great news is that it’s entirely free to enter and AMD is offering great prizes for the winners with total prize pool worth 60 million Indonesian Rupiah (which is approx $450 USD). Prizes include motherboards, mice, keyboards and other hardware goodies.

The contest is divided into Ambient and Extreme categories. Contestants must use a motherboard from ASRock, ASUS, GIGABYTE or MSI with Ambient categories for each motherboard vendor, each focused on a different benchmark. There are also sub-categories for AMD Ryzen 3, Ryen 5 and Ryzen 7 so overall it’s a pretty inclusive contest. In terms of extreme overclocking the Ryzen No Limits section features four benchmarks; CPU-Z (CPU clock Frequency), CPU-Z (memory clock frequency), HWBOT x265 4K and 3DMark Fire Strike Physics.

It’s great to see AMD engage directly with the Indonesian enthusiast segment, promoting the art of overclocking their new Ryzen processors. The contest website also shares specific overclocking guides that teach users how to tweak the BIOSes of motherboards from all four vendors. There are also guides that show users how to go through the score submission process step by step. It’s also refreshing to see that AMD have also drafted in Alva ‘Lucky_n00b’ Jonathan to act as Master Judge.
