The HWBOT World Tour spent last weekend at PAX AU in Brisbane, Australia. As well as running Overclocking Workshops and hosting extreme and ambient OC contests, the team also hosted a ‘Performance Matters’ event with partners Intel, Aorus and Seasonic. The event featured, among other things, a space where Taiwanese legend HiCookie could get down to some seriously subzero overclocking, with plenty of LN2 on hand. HiCookie was joined by TeamAU Co-Founder James Trevaskis, known as YoungPro here on HWBOT. The pair got busy attacking a pair of classic benchmarks, 3Dmark05 and 3DMark06. The result? Two new World Records broken live for the pleasure of the on looking Aussie media.

The ‘Performance Matters – Six by South Wharf’ event took place at the Wharf Hotel and featured live overclocking demos of the latest Intel Coffee Lake architecture Core i7 8700K processor. Using in the new 6-core flagship mainstream CPU offering from Intel pushed to 6,889MHz (+86.46%) HiCookie and James managed to hit a new World Record score of 73,698 marks in the 3DMark05 benchmark. The rig also featured a GTX 1080 Ti card with the GPU pushed to 2,080MHz (+40.54%) and graphics memory at 1,500MHz (+9.01%), plus a G.SKILL Ripjaw Z DDR4 kit configured at 1,962MHz (12-12-12-28). The whole system was based around an new and forthcoming motherboard from, the GIGABYTE Z370X SOC Force LN2.

In the 3DMark06 benchmark, another benchmark which like 3Dmark05 is largely CPU-bound at the highest levels of the game, we find another World Record broken. Taking advantage of the new i7 8700K to make a World Record breaking score of 91,059 marks, this time with the CPU pushed even further to break the 7GHz barrier and run at 7,070MHz, an incredible +91% beyond stock.
