In Week 40 of 2017, we received 3630 benchmark results from 933 registered overclockers around the world. The majority of the submissions is coming from Rookie overclockers representing 56% of the active community. They were responsible for 34% of the submissions. We had a peek at the most valuable submissions in a breakdown per league.

During Week 40 of 2017 five overclockers made it to the leaderboard with a golden cup. First up is Alex@ro from Romania with a Global First Place in the XTU 6xCPU category. He pushed the brand new Core i7 8700K processor to 6750MHz and pushed the top score to 3532 marks up from 2984 marks with the Core i7 7800X. Next up is Xtreme Addict with a Global First Place in the 1xGPU Time Spy benchmark. With a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card clocked at 2708/1618 MHz and paired with the Core i9 7960X at 5600 MHz, the Polish overclocker scores 14231 marks. The next golden cup goes to Gunslinger from the USA who scored a Hardware First Place in the 3DMark Vantage 2x GeForce GTX 580 category. The new top score is 67790 marks and is achieved by combining a 1000/1200 MHz pair of graphics cards with a Core i9 7900X at 5170 MHz.

Moving a class down to Extreme we find SergeyUA from Ukraine with a World Record in GPUPI for CPU 1B! The new World Record stands at 46.718 seconds and is achieved using a pair of 6-core Xeon X5690 Westmere CPUs clocked at 4920MHz on water cooling. Last but not least there's Bolc from France with a Hardware First Place in the XTU Core i5 3570 category. The new score to beat is 890 marks which is two higher than the previous best.

The most used hardware components of Week 40 are the Core i7 7700K (13.3%), GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (10.1%) and the ASRock Z170M OC Formula (2.5%). In total the community used 344 different CPUs, 222 different GPUs and 720 different motherboards.

The overclocking results submitted during Week 40 generated in total 330 World Record Points, 10037.5 Global Points, and 7112.7 Hardware Points. The distribution per League is as follows: 33% for Elite, 23% for Extreme, 12% for Apprentice, 17% for Enthusiast, 4% for Novice, and 23% for Rookie. The representation of the active community is as follows: 3% Elite, 9% Extreme, 4% Apprentice, 17% Enthusiast, 11% Novice, and 56% Rookie.
