GALAX GOC 2017 Worldwide Qualifier, Starts on Saturday September 2nd

The GALAX GOC event is now in its fifth year, and its second year on OC-ESPORTS. In that time it has become widely recognized as one of the most premier extreme overclocking contests in the world. This year’s GOC contest kicks off in just a few days with an online contest that will decide which overclockers will feature in the live finals later this year. Let’s have a look at the contest format, the prizes on offer, the hardware restrictions imposed as well as the benchmarks that each combatant will face.

GALAX GOC 2017 Worldwide Qualifier: Sept 2nd - October 1st

Running throughout the month of September, the GOC 2017 contest is hosted on OC-ESPORTS and consists of five separate stages that span both 2D and 3D benching. These are the stages:

  • Stage 1: 3DMark Time Spy
  • Stage 2: 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme
  • Stage 3: SuperPI 32M
  • Stage 4: Memory Frequency
  • Stage 5: GPUPI 1B

Note: In case of an overall tie, 3DMark Time spy is the first tie-breaker followed by SuperPI 32M.

12 Overclockers Attend GOC 2017 Grand Final in Thailand

The top twelve overclockers on the GOC 2017 Qualifier table on the OC-ESPORTS contest page will be cordially invited to attend the GOC 2017 Grand Finals which this year has been moved from Wuhan China, its location for the last few years, to a new location in Thailand. Details have yet to be finalized (watch this space), but as with previous GOC events, it promises to be pretty awesome. Overclockers invited to the Grand Finals will enjoy an all expenses trip that includes flights and accommodation.
