G.SKILL OC World Cup 2017: Day 1 – Rsannino (Italy) Leads

The first day of the G.SKILL OC World Cup 2017 just came to a head at the G.SKILL booth here in Nangang, Taipei at Computex 2017. The contest pits six of the world’s most respected overclockers against each other in a live overclocking contest were $10,000 USD is up for grabs for the winner. After day one concluded we find that Italian Overclocker rsaninno is in top spot, making some great scores in all four stages of the contest.

The G.SKILL OC World Cup 2017 features four separate stages; DDR4 Frequency, Geek Bench 3 Multi-Core 6.5GHz, 3DMark11 6.5GHz and Cinebench R15 6.5GHz. Each day two overclocking slots are made available at the G.SKILL Booth with overclockers drawn at random to see who will bench when (note: unfortunately, US legend Splave was unable to attend after an unfortunate incident that ultimately deprived him of his passport).

In the two sessions on Day 1 we find that rsaninno, Dancop and RULE have had opportunities to make some submissions. Italian rsaninno currently leads the way, being quickest out of the gate with some solid scores in all four benchmarks. In Stage 1 however, fellow Italian RULE leads the way with a DDR4 frequency of 2,449.7MHz, just ahead of Dancop on 2,332.2MHz and rsaninno on 2,242.9MHz.

In Stage 2 we have two scores posted so far with rsaninno submitting a Geek Bench 3 score of 28,169 with Germany’s Dancop close behind on 27,992 points. In Stage 3 we find rsannino scoring 20,461 marks in 3DMark Physics with Dancop again hot on his heels with 20,293 points. In Stage 4 rsaninno is again ahead of Dancop, this time with a Cinebench R15 score of 1,472 cb points, while Dancop sits just one point behind on 1,471 cb points.

You can find all the scores from the contest here on the OC-EPSORTS platform. Tomorrow will see Xtreme Addict from Poland and Alex@ro from Romania enter the fray. Things should start to get very interesting indeed.
