Splave (US) and rsannino (Italy) Compete for Dual-Core (i3 7350K) Dominance

Overclocking Intel’s dual-core line up of CPUs was not always such an interesting topic here on HWBOT, but since the launch of the unlocked Core i3 7350K processor the heat has certainly been turned up a significant notch. In recent months many of world’s leading overclocking talent have fought hard to earn as many dual-core Global First Place points as possible; these include Xtreme Addict, Smoke, l0ud_sil3nc3, Dancop and several others. Recently however we’ve seen some really great competitive action with Splave (US) and rsannino (Italy) posting some really strong scores and leveraging the points available in this segment.

Back in February we noted how Splave had managed to claim eight Global First Place scores in the space of only two days, claiming the GFP points available to climb the global rankings and reach third place. In the last few weeks he has returned to the dual-core fray, in the process reestablishing himself as World No.3. It hasn't been easy however with rsannino for example also working hard to stay ahead in this segment.

Last week we saw Splave take the Cinebench R15 dual-core Global First Place ranked score with a score of 766 cb points. This was done using a direct die mounted Core i3 7350K clocked at 6,729MHz (+60.21%). Other rig details include a G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 kit clocked at 2,130MHz (12-12-12-28) and an ASRock Z170M OC Formula motherboard. The new score zooms past rsannino and Xtreme Addict (Poland) who both managed 762 cb points.

Rsannino returned to his dual-core Kaby Lake rig just days later, posting an XTU score of 1,214 marks just days later with his Core i3 7350K 6,669MHz (+58.79%). Splave responded in kind however, posting a score of 1,216 marks with his direct die mounted chip pushed to 6,700MHz (+59.52%).

At this juncture Splave holds the Global First Place ranked score for dual core systems in wPrime 32M, wPrime 1024M, XTU, Cinebench R11.5, Cinebench R15 and HWBOT Prime. Rsannino however still currently holds sway in GPUPI for CPU 100M, Geekbench 3 Multi-Core and SuperPi 32M. As a result of all this hard work Splave currently sits in third place in the HWBOT rankings, just narrowly ahead of Romania’s Alex@ro while rsannino sits in tenth place just ahead of Germany’s der8auer.
