[Video] Buildzoid vs ASRock X370 Taichi - Epic Rant Mode!

Buildzoid just published a video on his YouTube channel that is, I will freely admit, one of the funniest things I’ve seen (heard?) in quite a while. We’ve all experienced a moment when we lose our cool and get really irritated by a certain hardware feature, or non feature that it literally makes our blood boil. This is exactly what happened to Buildzoid this week when he started playing around with his newly acquired ASRock X370 Taichi motherboard. The board itself is very attractive and well designed with one major exception – an annoying quirk in the BIOS.

The first thing Buildzoid does is give a basic overview of the BIOS that ASRock have designed for their X370 Taichi motherboard. As you’d expect there are plenty of AMD / Ryzen specific features within the BIOS that you may not have experienced before. Buildzoid adjusts each of the settings in an effort to coax some improved performance from his new Ryzen CPU.

The problem arises when he attempts to switch the BIOS Overclock Mode setting to manual raise the ‘APU/PCIE Frequency’ settings. The moment the settings are raised from 100MHz to 101MHz, every other setting that he just configured vanishes. All settings, completely wiped. Totally gone! What follows is a rant of epic proportions that is well worth a look, simply for a Friday afternoon humor injection - unless you happen to work for ASRock of course.
