The first round of the Road to Pro Challenger Divisions is now behind us, coming to a close on OC-ESPORTS on March 31st. In this article we’re going to focus on Divisions I, II and III, which all involve benching on Intel platforms. We’ll take a look at the winners, the scores and submissions in a little detail.
Challenger 2017 Round 1: Division I
The Division I contest is all about pushing Intel’s latest and greatest non-HEDT, Core i7 processors. Today that pretty much means harnessing all of your skills with the latest Kaby Lake architecture CPUs, and in particular, the Intel Core i7 7700K. In terms of graphics cards, it’s pretty much wide open - overclockers were allowed to use any single GPU with the exception of Nvidia GTX Titan series cards.
Here are the stages that were devised for Division I:
- Stage 1: XTU
- Stage 2: GPUPI for CPU 1B
- Stage 3: 3DMark06
- Stage 4: HWBOT x265 1080p
- Stage 5: 3DMark Time Spy
