Rookie Rumble #42 Breaks Participation and Submission Records, Prize Draw Winner Update

When it comes to newer HWBOT members and the Rookie overclocking scene in general, it seems things are looking pretty good. The Rookie Rumble #42 contest just came to its conclusion on OC-ESPORTS a few days ago. The great news is that it actually broke all participation levels with a total of 610 Rookie Overclockers taking part. In addition, the contest saw a record number of submissions with more than 1,300 benchmark results submitted during the contest.

The Rookie Rumble contest series is open to all Rookie and Novice class HWBOT members. Hosted on OC-ESPORTS, the first contest was held on January 2014 and attracted 30 overclockers. Since its inception, we’ve seen a gradual rise in participation numbers. The last few months however have seen a healthy climb in participation levels. In fact Rookie Rumble #42 is the third consecutive record breaking contest in terms of participation.

The Rookie Rumble #42 contest ran from March 11th until April 1st. Contest sponsors G.SKILL offered a Trident Z RGB memory kit as a Prize Draw for overclockers who made submissions in all of the contest's three stages. The winner was US Overclocker and Ninjalane team member DeanoMax. He wins Round #42 with a score of 132 points - this includes the winning XTU submission, a score of 1,856 marks using a Core i7 7700K clocked at 5,230MHz (+24.52%).
