Slythz & bboyjezz Organize 'Overclocking Festival' at Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta

Indonesian overclockers slythz and bboyjezz are helping to organize an ‘Overclocking Festival’ event at the Bina Nusantara University in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event is climax of a short series of Overclocking events dubbed the ‘Unleash Your Performance’ series. The series kicks off tomorrow with Overclocking Seminars and Workshops held at the Gunadarma University in Jakarta. Seminars and workshops will hosted by bboyjezz. This will be followed up with a similar event at the Multimedia Nusantara University in Tangerang on March 23rd. The highlight of the week however will take place at the Bina Nusantara University on March 25th where students in attendance will have the chance to learn about overclocking and then watch eight teams compete in a live overclocking contest.

The contest itself is will involve overclocking Intel Core i3 7350K processors with ASUS-STRIX Z270 motherboards and GTX 1050 Ti graphics cards plus DDR4 from Team Group and Enermax power supplies. The contest format may seem a little odd if you’re not familiar with Indonesian-style overclocking. Overclockers will compete in teams of two with qualification rounds lasting one hour and featuring two benchmarks. Teams can only submit scores once in the one hour contest time.

The two highest scoring teams from each round will progress to the Semi-Finals. Semi-final matches will last only fifteen minutes with each team member given a separate system to use. Team members cannot communicate (communication will result in instant disqualification). After ten minutes, they have to switch system for the last 5 minutes. The Final will be last an hour and use four benchmarks with teams split again to use two systems. Teams will have to switch three times during the round with switch times randomly draw by the judges. Interestingly, the overclockers will not know when they have to switch systems.
