PXHX Wins Overclocking World Championship – Sao Paulo 2017 Qualifier

The curtain has now come down on a fantastic week of Overclocking Workshops and Ambient and Extreme Overclocking contests and at the Campus Party in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Each stop of the HWBOT World Tour 2017 of course includes an Overclocking World Championship Qualifier contest, an Extreme OC contest with unlimited LN2 where the winner gets to book himself a spot in the World Championship final at the end of the year. The winner of the contest in this week was PXHX who completes the remarkable feat of being the first Overclocker to win two OCWC Qualifier contests. He will join US Overclocker steponz at the end of the year, making his second appearance in the Final.

PXHX, also known a Paulo, is an Extreme overclocker currently ranked as the fourth best Overclocker in Brazil. In the first Semi-Final he was drawn against Renan0000, a newcomer to the OCWC contest. The benchmark drawn for the 1v1 match was GPUPI for CPU 500M. After 30 minutes of overclocking on the main stage, PXHX had the fastest run with a score of 1min 2sec 574ms, edging out his opponent who could do no more than 1min 8sec 555ms.

In the Final PXHX came up against Brazilian No.1 Darkvenom. The benchmark drawn at random on this occasion was 3DMark 11 Physics 6GHz, a benchmark and CPU frequency limitation which puts the emphasis firmly memory tweaking. After 30 minutes Darkvenom had managed a score of 16,006. Meanwhile PXHX had managed to squeeze just a little extra to score 16,758 marks.

Congrats to PXHX and to all the Extreme Overclockers that competed in the contest. Also thanks to sponsors GIGABYTE Brazil, HyperX and Seasonic. We will be back in the days to come with a more compete roundup of the contest on OC-ESPORTS.
