Most Valuable Submission of Week 5, 2017: Gold for Smoke (RU), Mr.DB! (IR), Hideo (JP), Futto-kun (JP), Pilu (IT), Poparamiro (RO) and MrD3adGamer (US)

In Week 5 of 2017, we received 5341 benchmark results from 1276 registered overclockers around the world. The majority of the submissions is coming from Rookie overclockers representing 65% of the active community. They were responsible for 44% of the submissions. We had a peek at the most valuable submissions in a breakdown per league.

Week 5 was again impressive in terms of overclocking activity as the competition in benchmarks like Cinebench R15 continues to ramp. We also feature 7 golden cups in this week's leaderboard. First up is Smoke from Russia who has been very active with the Core i7 7700 Kaby Lake processor. He scores a global first place in Aquamark 1xGPU with a GTX 1080 at 2050/2500 MHz and a 6974 MHz CPU. Also in the Elite league we find Mr.DB! from Iran with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU at 4972 MHz grabbing the top spot in the Wprime 1024M benchmark. We're edging closer to seeing the first 5GHz Q6600 in this benchmark. The Extreme League table features two overclockers from Japan: Hideo and Futto-kun. While Hideo scored a global first place in the HWBOT Prime 4xCPU category with am i7 7700K at 6947 MHz, Futto-kun focused on the hardware category. With a 6.9 GHz CPU, Futto-kun scores a golden cup in the 3DMark05 GeForce GTX 580 category. The Apprentice League features a World Record from Italian overclocker Pilu in the GPUPI for CPU 1B benchmark. With a pair of hexa-core Xeon E5649 processors clocked at 4421 MHz he set a time of 51.446 seconds. We also find Poparamiro from Romania in the table. Poparamiro is a regular feature in the MVS news posts and usually demonstrates his overclocking skills with legacy graphics cards. In the 3DMark01 GeForce 6600 GT PIC-e category he scored a golden cup with the card clocked at 750/703 and a Haswell Core i7 4770K at 5.1 GHz. The last golden cup winner of the week is MrD3adGamer from the USA who nailed the top spot in the Core i7 5500U category, outscoring his nearest competitor by a mere two points. The overclocking results submitted during Week 5 generated in total 115 World Record Points, 10266.8 Global Points, and 9811.5 Hardware Points. The distribution per League is as follows: 24% for Elite, 37% for Extreme, 9% for Apprentice, 14% for Enthusiast, 5% for Novice, and 20% for Rookie. The representation of the active community is as follows: 2% Elite, 7% Extreme, 4% Apprentice, 13% Enthusiast, 9% Novice, and 65% Rookie.
