Just a few days ago we arrived at the conclusion of the Old School is Best School, Season 3, Round 1 contest on OC-ESPORTS. The contest witnessed 18 teams of old school Overclockers competing on classic Intel Socket 771 socket CPUs and Nvidia Quadro G96 grade GPUs. The contest was won by team who finally managed to take their first ever win in the contest series. XtremeOverdrive OC team Italy broke their duck with a total of 59 points, defeating Hardware Canucks and Overclocking Team Austria who also managed spots on the podium. Old School is Best School, Season 3 Round 1: December 15th - January 15th 2017

The Old School is Best contest on OC-ESPORTS is a contest designed and shaped to tickle the OC taste buds of Overclockers who are usually pretty long in the tooth. It is a well known fact that older Overclockers enjoy digging out old hardware that they hoard in their man caves, benching them again simply for the kudos of doing so. It’s about revisiting old platforms and benchmarks for a bit of fun. It’s also an opportunity for younger Overclockers to get to know long lost hardware that some would argue belong in a museum.
