Throwback Thursday: TeamAU's Tour de Force - 7x World Records!

Today is a Thursday, in the fact the last Thursday of the year. All of which means it’s once again time revisit a point in the past on HWBOT that we hope will evoke some pleasant memories. Today we look back at a post from 2013 which covered a truly remarkable benchmarking session from TeamAU when the guys managed to submit seven World Record 3D scores, plus one 2nd place during their annual summer meet up (yes, December is summertime down under). Here’s a taste of what we wrote back in 2013:

“On their annual meetup, TeamAU set not one, not two, not and-so-on, but seven (7!) world records. The benchmark records range from 3DMark06 over 3DMark Vantage to the latest 3DMark. There are two systems used in combination with a set of four Radeon R9 290X graphics cards: a 6.1GHz Ivy Bridge-E on Rampage IV Black, and a 6.4GHz Haswell combined with the Z87X-OC motherboard.”

“Congratulations goes out to the entire TeamAU: Bob(nz), Fester, Dinos22, SniperOz, Moloko, and Youngpro. Awesome benching!”

Happy days for the Aussies, who were clearly in irresistible form. In fact the TeamAU eventually went on to make a major contribution to Australia winning the HWBOT Country Cup that year. Read the original post from 2013 here. There are certainly a few interesting comments that might be worth checking out.
