FUGGER (US) Wins RealBench Challenge IV, Wizerty (France) Wins Series, Plus Prize Draw Winners

Just a few days ago we came to the conclusion of the RealBench Challenge series here on OC-ESPORTS. The fourth and final segment of the contest arrived in the form of Challenge IV and was won by US overclocker FUGGER who managed to edge out Menthol (US) with a World Record breaking score. Wizerty, as the winner of Challenges I, II and III is rewarded however with the overall contest series win and the awesome prizes that go with it. Let’s take a last look at all the scores and standings in this year’s RealBench Challenge series.

RealBench Challenge Challenge IV: Full Out - November 25th - December 5th

The RealBench Challenge, as you may have guessed, is all about benching on the ASUS-developed RealBench benchmark app. The app uses four tests that include Image Editing, H.264 Video Encoding, OpenCL and Heavy Multitasking. The contest featured four separate Challenges with the fourth and final Challenge IV running from November 25th to December 7th.

The contest was open to all HWBOT members in all leagues, however to make the contest more attractive to less experienced overclockers, cooling throughout the contest was limited to ambient only (CPU temperatures at 20°C or above). For added drama (and to discourage sandbagging) an additional +1 point was awarded to the top ten places on November 29th, one week before the end of the contest.

Each of the RealBench Challenges features a slightly different limitation in terms of hardware. Challenge I limited Overclockers to no more than 4 cores, Challenge II limited frequencies to 4.2GHz while Challenge III allowed only two cores. The previous three RealBench Challenge contests forbade the use of any socket 2011-3 platform processors, removing the chance to bench on Haswell-E and Broadwell-E series CPUs. Challenge IV removed this stipulation, allowing overclockers with deeper pockets to roll out their deca-core Core i7 6950X chips.
