A look at casemodding and the winners of the Gigabyte mod2win contest

“This month the winners of the Gigabyte 30th anniversary casemodding competition were announced and like I had predicted the winners were all scratch builds. In this episode Dennis and Darren look over the winning entries and give their impressions on what they liked and didn’t like about them. The skill required to modify a case can range from expert to novice and if you buy the right case there is a chance that there are no mods that need to be preformed. This has somewhat blurred the lines between what is a “Build” vs “Mod” and what kinds of “Mods” aren’t really modifications at all."

“Later in this segment Dennis brings up the future of casemodding and how it should be more than a build but a status symbol to reflect the personality of the creator and something that should be shared with others."

A new way to test fan performance

"A few weeks ago Dennis posted a review of the Cooler Master MasterFan Pro series of case fans and in doing so created a new and fairly accurate way of testing fan performance. The new process involves simulating a radiator to test the flow and pressure of any fan. Results of these tests will allow users to accurately determine what fans are the best for their system and finally put to rest the great forum debates and shoddy YouTube reviews."
