Nik (Germany) Wins ROG OC Showdown 2016 - Formula Series Round 1

The conclusion of the first round of the ROG Showdown 2016 - Formula Series happened just a few days ago, with German Enthusiast overclocker Nik taking a valuable step towards becoming the series winner with a solid win. Nik wins Round 1 with a total points haul of 45, just ahead of Indonesia’s IvanCupa on 39 points and and Ziken from France on 36. Before we go any further, let’s take a look at the scores, submissions and players in one of the most popular ambient OC contests ever hosted on OC-ESPORTS.

Formula Series Round 1: August 26th - September 26th

The ROG OC Showdown 2016 Formula Series is designed to entice overclockers that use air and water cooling to help push their system. Only overclockers from the Rookie, Novice and Enthusiast leagues were allowed to compete, with temperatures limited to 30°C or above (XTU load temp must be higher than 60°C). The only hardware limitations involved were that overclockers must use an ASUS motherboard and that only currently available consumer hardware be used (i.e. no server chips).

Partners ROG, Seasonic, Thermal Grizzly, CaseKing and The Open Benchtable project put together some great prizes for Round 1. A top prize of a next-generation motherboard is also available for the overall series winners.
