GIGABYTE Renews Partnership with HWBOT

Today we are totally stoked to announce that GIGABYTE have just renewed their partnership with HWBOT. This is fantastic news for us, for the Overclocking scene and all who reside within as GIGABYTE have been one of the most pivotal and historically influential companies going back right back to the early years.

The Overclocking world we find ourselves in today would not be possible without the support of the Taiwan’s major technology vendors in Taiwan. Motherboard and graphics vendors play a huge role in the Overclocking scene, and have become key partners in so many the overclocking ventures that we try to make happen on HWBOT, including online and live events plus support for professional and elite players. These companies also provide invaluable support to HWBOT as an organization.

GIGABYTE’s involvement with the OC scene is of course legendary. They were pioneers in terms of sponsoring and organizing overclocking contests that spanned the globe. Many could argue in fact that GO OC (GIGABYTE Open Overclocking Championship) became in many respects a template of what a good overclocking contest could be, combining well run regional contests with grand finals that were for most people involved, really good fun.

Also, let’s not forget that GIGABYTE were also the first to develop a motherboard dedicated to the cause of Overclocking. The GIGABYTE X58A-OC was essentially the brain child of highly respected overclocker Hicookie and man, was it a sight to behold. It was the first board to provide onboard CPU tuning buttons, had additional SATA power connectors for extra VGA juice and featured a VRM to be feared. It was even brave enough to have extremely minimal PS2, USB, LAN and Audio outputs and connectors on the back panel IO, such was the ambition of the company at the time. Today, motherboards like the GIGABYTE Z170X-SOC FORCE and others that carry the distinctive orange color scheme, carry on that tradition.

GIGABYTE have a track record of really understanding and supporting the OC community, and with recent HWBOT X events around the world it’s great to see their support remains truly global. For these reasons and many more, it’s really great to see GIGABYTE remain a valued partner of HWBOT and Overclocking in general.
