Rookie Rumble Update: #32 Breaks Record Highest Participation, #33 Has 2 Female Overclockers in Top Ten

If you were curious as to the health and vitality of the Rookie League on HWBOT, I have good news to report. June’s , plus Rookie Rumble #32 on OC-ESPORTS enjoyed the highest participation numbers since the creation of the contest back in January 2014.

A total of 409 overclockers participated during the 32nd installment (the actual numbers are probably higher as a few rogue submissions were blocked). During this time around 853 submissions were made, the majority of which centered on the XTU benchmark. The most popular CPU used was unsurprisingly the Skylake architecture Core i7 6700K, followed by the i5 6600K and the Devil’s Canyon i7 4790K.

If we turn our attention to the latest Rookie Rumble installment we can see that , plus #33 involved a healthy 347 rookie overclockers, but perhaps most interestingly it also involved two female overclockers. It’s not always easy to identify the female contingent of the HWBOT membership, but in this case we are pretty confident that Indonesia’s itabellaOC and her compatriot adelle are in fact genuine lady overclockers.

We have covered itabellaOC before when she managed to make it to the pinnacle of the Rookie league. Today she can be proud of her position in third place on the Rookie League and her runner-up spot in the Rumble #33. Incidentally she also competed in the AMD Rumble #30 where she came 4th.

Climbing the ranks we also have Adelle, an overclocker who currently studies Electrical Instrumentation at the prestigious Gadjah Mada University. Adelle finished in 8th place in the Rumble #33 and is currently ranked as No.1 in her team, the Rookies of Indonesia. A pretty impressive achievement in a team which boasts 72 members.

You can find the full Rookie rankings here on HWBOT – watch out, some of these Rookies could make the grade and graduate to Extreme or even Elite status someday.
