It’s official. Overclocking is no longer a dark art that is practiced by uber-geeks and grumpy old men in poorly lit man caves across the globe – it now exists in the warm glow of today’s mainstream media, also known as YouTube. In recent months we have noticed that overclocking-related video has become somewhat of a growth area, with several YouTube channels pumping out some really good content. Here’s a quick look at the channels that have caught our attention of late.

Der8auer: Known to many of us on the HWBOT forum and elsewhere simply as Roman, Germany’s der9auer is currently ranked as the World’s fourth highest ranked overclocker, which is a long way of saying that this guy really knows what he’s talking about. The der8auer YouTube channel is a treasure trove if useful advice guides and at times opinions about everything OC-related. His recent videos include overclocking guides for the Nvidia GTX 1060 and Radeon RX 480 cards, excellent viewing for seasoned pros and rookies alike.

OverClocking-TV: As the media stalwarts of the Overclocking world, OverClocking-TV need no introduction. Xyala and Trouffman have been covering overclocking events and contests since the early years and are still pushing out some of the most unique content on the web. Recent examples include full coverage of the HWBOT world Tour, including live streams of the 1v1 contests with commentary from OC veterans like Leeghoofd. Check out their recent coverage of the OC Summer Party in the US a few weeks ago, a real fly-on-the-wall look at a chilled overclocking get together.

Buildzoid (Actually Hardcore Overclocking): Buildzoid is the captain of the Overclocking Reddit team /r/overclocking, and is an extreme overclocker with plenty of talent when it comes to producing entertaining overclocking videos. Born in the Czech Republic, buildzoid now lives in the UK where he has turned his pad into a live streaming, OC studio. Buildzoid clearly has a technical background, tackling the inner secrets of the RX 480 card with a full breakdown of its PCB and power delivery. He also streams his exploits in OC competitions, recently competing in the Cheapaz Chips contest on OC-ESPORTS where his work with Catzilla 576p has him ranked in third place of Stage 1.

Skatterbencher: When it comes to getting to grips with the basics of overclocking, there is no better place to start than with the Skatterbencher YouTube channel. Massman and Xyala offer simple, short and concise overclocking guides that get straight to the heart of the matter. Want to know how to overclock a Skylake Core i7 6700K to 1.4GHz? Or perhaps how to configure a set G.SKILL Ripjaws V in XMP, Skatterbencher can tell you everything you need to know in under three minutes.

DrWeez: DrWeez is an Elite overclocker from South Africa who is currently No.1 in his country and 14th in the World. In recent months the Doc has uploaded dozens of fantastic videos, many of which reveal his incredible attention to detail when preparing for and competing in the Pro OC Cup on OC-ESPORTS. DrWeez also live streamed his first encounter with Broadwell E which happened during the HWBOT World Tour Asia event at Computex 2016.

Overclocking Made in France: Finally we come to a YouTube channel that French overclockers will appreciate. Overclocking Made in France offer content that includes live overclocking streams, hardware unboxing videos and reviews and more, all delivered with the style and panache we would expect from our French cousins.
