Dancop Takes GPUPI 1B 2x GPU Global 1st Place with 2x GTX 1080 ROG STRIX Cards

Following up with last week’s news post where we noted how World No.1 Dancop had taken down the single GPU Global 1st place ranking for GPUPI 1B using his new GTX 1080 card, today we can reveal that the German OC master has been busy working with pair of said cards, taking aim on the 2x GPU record of the same benchmark.

The new Global 1st Place score for a run in GPUPI 1B now stands at 6sec 913ms. This was achieved with a pair of ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 ROG Strix OC Edition cards with the GPUs clocked at 2,354MHz (+46.48%). In terms of CPU you’d not be surprised to see an Intel core i7 6700K processor clocked to 5,002MHz (+25.05%) plus a G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 kit configured at 1,802MHz (CL12.0 11-11-28 1T). Of course all chips were cooled on LN2, mounted on an ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme motherboard.

The new high score beats the previous best from Sofos1990, who used a pair of AMD Radeon R9 290Xs to submit a run of 6sec 934ms, just 21sec slower than the new 1st placed score from Dancop. It’s interesting to note that Dancop was using the newly updated version of the GPUPI benchmark which finally made it out of beta to arrive at version 2.3 just a few days ago. The new version is in fact optimized for the latest Nvidia cards, a factor that may have aided Dancop here somewhat. Either way, it’s a fantastic score. Great work!

The new Global 1st Place for the 2x GPU ranking in GPUPI 1B earns Dancop a 58.2 points, plus 6.8 points for the GTX 1080 ranking. This keeps Dancop on 3243.40 points in the World rankings, just ahead of Xtreme Addict on 2984.660 points.
