Steponz (US) Takes Down 3DMark11 1x GPU Global 1st Place

Mercurial American overclocker stephonz has just beaten the record for a single GPU run on 3DMark11, hitting an all time high score of 36,720 marks. The score was made using a Haswell-E Core i7 5960X pumped to a massive 5,794MHz on LN2, a very nice +93.13% beyond stock, plus an EVGA Kingpin Edition GTX 980Ti with the GPU rocking along at 2,131MHz (+98.05%) with the memory configured at 2,103MHz (+19.98%). Other key specs include a G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 kit set at 1,545MHz (CL11.0 13-15-15 1T) plus a GIGABYTE X99-SOC Champion motherboard.

The submission earns Stephonz, who is second only to Splave in global US overclocking rankings, 118.6 points for the single GPU 3DMark11 ranking, plus 28.4 hardware points for the 980 Ti ranking. The score of 36,720 marks sits at the top of the 3DMark11 1x GPU leaderboard, just ahead of Xtreme Addict 36,695 marks. Interestingly the Pole used a 980 Ti paired with a deca-core, Broadwell-E deca-core i7 6950X processor.
