Splave Hits Record DDR4 Frequency with G.SKILL Trident Z and ASRock Z170M OC Formula

In terms of memory frequency bragging rights, there’s been quite a bit of movement at the top end of the game recently with memory kits from G.SKILL and ZADAK511 pushing the upper limits beyond the DDR4-5000 barrier. Toppc burst past the 5GHz barrier a week or so ago and since then we have seen slew of new record highest frequency records from Racoon, Lucky_n00b, NickShih and der8auer. With a frequency of 2,594.6MHz Splave becomes the latest overclocker to become king of DDR4 frequency.

The latest record high DDR4 frequency was submitted using an ASRock Z170M OC Formula board, a motherboard that has a fantastic reputation when it comes to memory frequencies. Nick Shih and the team at ASRock have certainly done their homework to optimize the trace paths and layout for high memory frequencies. The 8GB Trident Z kit from G.SKILL is another example of B-die memory that is clearly contributing the rash of new records we are seeing recently. Interestingly, the score from Splave was submitted using a core i7 6700k actually down-clocked to 1,004MHz (-74.89%).

You can check out the record submission from US No.1 Splave here, as well as the DDR4 frequency rankings table here. Watch this space, as we may well see more DDR4 frequency action in the coming days and weeks.
