Dancop Seizes Back 3DMark06 World Record

Just three days after Smoke broke the 3DMark06 World Record at the OC Summit overclocking meet up in Moscow, Dancop has regained the record with a score of 65,163 marks, a tidy 556 marks ahead of the previous best from the Russian No.1.

Dancop’s new World Record was made using a ‘Skylake’ Core i7 6700K pushed to a very impressive 6,602.16MHz (+65.05%) – interestingly just a tad further than Smoke’s 6700K which hit 6,590MHz (+64.75%). Crucially however, both scores involve a GTX 980 Ti with Dancop pushing the Maxwell GPU to 1,700MHz (+57.99%) and the memory pushed to 2,150MHz (+22.65%). These settings clearly gave the German the edge over Smoke who had his 980 Ti card configured at 1,541MHz (+43.22%) and 2,000MHz (+14.09%). Other spec details include (not surprisingly) an ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme, a G.SKILL Trident Z kit clocked at 2,000MHz (CL12.0 12-12-28 1T) and a Seasonic 1200 Watt PSU.

The submission earns Dancop a few additional points that further cement his place at the top of World overclocking, with 120 Points for the 1x GPU ranking and 18.4 points for the GTX 980 Ti ranking.
